Is abortion truly evil?
Simply stated, abortion is based on satanic roots. This isn’t a matter of opinion or public perception, it is solely based on biblical truth. This type of truth seems to be overlooked these days. Even many churches refuse to acknowledge real truth. The “my body, my choice” argument is a rebellious stance against God. There are 2 major “violations” (sins) that occur in the process of abortion. The first is to choose death. The second choice, when acted upon results in an innocent life being violently ended. In the Bible we are told to choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19). The 10 commandments also tell us not to commit murder. There are 2 additional subjects that come to mind when we look at the act of abortion. One of them is how God sees the harming of “little ones”, in this case it’s children. He gives us a stern warning that it would be better for us to have a millstone tied around our neck than to harm a little one (Mark 9:42). He also tells us in the 10 Commandments that we are to have no idol or other god before Him. Abortion is a selfish act. When we choose ourselves above what God has commanded us, we essentially become our own little god. If we know the Bible we know that Satan sought to overthrow God and exhort himself. He saw himself more fit to be God. He rebelled against God. There’s nothing more that Satan would like than to kill God & end Him for good, but that will never happen. An interesting point in the Bible is that Satan (Lucifer) was considered the pinnacle creation of God’s angels. He is described as beautiful, more beautiful than the other angels. He had it all. He & every other angel also had free will (choice). He and others chose to go against God. Satan & all other angels were not created in the image of God. We are the only beings ever created in the image of God.
Can you imagine what Satan thinks of you & I because we are created in the imagine of the God that he so desperately sought to be better than? He hates us. Satan cannot love. He is incapable of doing so. He can only steal , kill, & destroy (John 10:10). He seeks to destroy anything & everything including you & me. God is the God of life. Death comes from Satan. If we begin to put two & two together it becomes clear that Satan wants nothing more than to kill God, but he can’t, it’s impossible. So what can he do? What can he resort to? Attacking and killing those who are created in the image of God. Our destruction is his ultimate goal. Satan reaches this goal once every 30 seconds, about 118 times per hour, 2800 times per day, or a bit more than a million times per year. This is the rate at which abortions are performed in the US alone (all.org). We’ve been tricked into thinking that abortion or the freedom to choose is a women’s right issue, it’s not. We’ve fallen for satan’s greatest trick foolishly thinking that he doesn’t exist. We are ending the lives of the most innocent, precious & vulnerable people in our society 2800 times per day. How do we know that these precious lives are all beautiful creations that matter to God? We are told in Psalm 139 that we are known & knit together by God in our mother’s womb. If we truly fear God & believe His word to be true it’s clear that we are called to be champions and advocates for the Pro-Life movement. We can’t call ourselves Christians and be pro choice. We can’t pick & choose what we consider to be true in the bible based on how we feel or what society thinks. The Bible is either the absolute truth or a false doctrine altogether. Ending this post here would be equivalent to yelling “baby killer!” At a woman who has had an abortion or supports the pro choice agenda, that would be unfair and not Christ like. We can never speak one truth and shy away from another. The other truth in this case is that there is forgiveness & grace waiting to be given to ALL by God. There is forgiveness for the young moms and dads that made a choice out of fear and desperation. There is forgiveness for the parents who forced their child to terminate a pregnancy. There is forgiveness for the married couples who decided that aborting a pregnancy would be most beneficial to their lives & careers. God call us to come to Him with our burdens and the heaviness of past decisions. He gives us rest & forgiveness. He tells us to turn away from sin & to seek Him. Believe it or not there are women in the church today that have made the decision to terminate a pregnancy. There are men in the church who persuaded these decisions, stood back and let it happen. God has restored lives, some of these people are even serving in their church. They are pastors, ministers, deacons, children’s ministry teachers & volunteers. As we observe #40daysforlife take some time to reflect, think, & pray about this HOT topic in our society. Most of all keep Proverbs 31:8 & Deuteronomy 30:19 in mind.
Proverbs 31:8-9
Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
Be a voice for the voiceless. Defend the defenseless. Be #prolife.
